The concept of “collective thinking” in the question is an example of the antisemitic conspiracy thinking that explains why so many anti-Israel answers are downvoted: they are racist, inflammatory, and wrong.Taking Quora at their word, I thought that if I submitted a replacement answer in which I tried hard to represent the views of the pro-Israel crowd faithfully, even though I don't agree with them, before a brief explanation of the counter opinion which is that Israel's well-known organised propaganda efforts on social media might also have something to do with it, it might be accepted at least as a starting point for a more inclusive summary, but it was rejected. So this evidence-free paranoid rant stands as an "objective", "non-controversial" and "impartial" answer.
Most questions about the conflict are insincere questions posted by anti-Israel trolls or loaded questions based on anti-Israel propaganda, demanding responses from pro-Israel and pro-fact writers, than vice versa. Anti-Palestinian troll questions are much less common, as would be their responses. Hence the appearance of pro-Israel bias in answers/facts is directly due to an anti-Israel bias in questions/fiction. Similarly, anti-Israel sentiment is often rooted in ignorance, while knowledge of the facts can drive one to be pro-Israel.
For genuine and neutral questions, the good responses only appear pro-Israel to those with anti-Israel bias. The best answers are fact based and grounded in reality, and reality is often pro-Israel. Pro-Israel does not mean anti-Palestine, just as anti-Israel does not mean pro-Palestine. So pro-Israel answers will also be pro-Peace and more positive, getting more upvotes as well.

Hey you, yeah you, scrolling through the discussion tag. Please understand that this post is about 12 google doc pages long and isn't meant to attack or offend anyone. It's just a response to Mod: u/SylverRyn original post: https://www.reddit.com/dreamsmp/comments/ktl1yq/to_all_those_who_think_techno_is_in_the_right/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 submitted by Creator290 to Technoblade [link] [comments] Note: This post is in no way of sending hate to the mod, or the Tumblr person who wrote it, or anyone who believes Technoblade(character) is in the wrong, or literally anyone at all. This google doc contains a lot of keyboard warrioring and should be viewed NOT AS THE RIGHT OPINION, but rather, a counter-argument to the post. Please, read through both sides of the debate carefully if you would like to form an informed opinion about Technoblade’s character. I'm also posting it here due to fear of the mods (shadow) banning the post and maybe you guys would be interested in this. That being said, it’s time for a complete break down of the Tumblr Post that the mod posted. I hope that you don’t remove this post! Tl;dr: no one can be perfect, just like no one can have a 100% good playthrough with their lives. However, Technoblade’s actions are much more justifiable than Tommy’s needs for his discs. Anarchy is advocating for no government, and tyranny is government, so technically Technoblade cannot be a tyrant. War crimes cannot be justified by war crimes. L’Manberg is not entirely innocent, and everyone is a moral grey, but a lot more people can sympathise and understand Technoblade. Technoblade is the easiest to root for now. (The first screenshot) It’s very interesting to me that Techno’s main goal for destroying L’Manburg and government is that “power corrupts” as if he isn’t the 2nd most powerful person on the server. Halt! Are you absolutely sure that Technoblade’s main goal for destroying L’Manburg is “power corrupts” or rather, the effects from L’Manburg’s government? Also, what is the power that we’re talking about? You are referring to ‘power’ in the terms of combat ability and items, not the power that Technoblade is talking about. That power, is the government's power, is leadership’s power, not brute strength. Of course, there can be military coups, but at the end of the day, the people would revolt. Sometimes for a long time in vain, but I have faith that at the end of the day, the people would experience at least a brief bout of peace. Let me explain the basis of government to you. Governments gain power through trust, through the people voting them into power. Or, that’s what democratic governments are. L’Manburg’s government isn’t exactly that. Through a military coup, Jschlatt was forcibly overthrown to be only replaced by Tommyinnit, then Wilbur, then Tubbo, who did not run for L’Manburg’s president in the first place. Now all the L’Manberg citizens have to listen to Tubbo, whether they want him in office or not. But they could not do anything, since half the nation has become the cabinet board, leaving only a forgotten Niki Nihachu and Philza Minecraft as actual citizens of L’Manberg. Strength in power dictates that they shouldn’t be able to do anything without outside help. So, this government can pass bans, outlaw people, conduct trials without anyone checking their power. Governments are essentially peer pressure, and a beautiful exhibit can be seen when Vice President Tommyinnit was exiled by his own cabinet members. The L’Manburg could have stood up to Dream if they banded together, and if the president didn’t have the absolute power that he did since basically everyone in the cabinet disagreed with his decision. When he lifted Tommy’s exile on January 4th, almost everyone disagreed/was not happy with it, but they could not do anything because he’s the president. Not because he’s better than them at PvP, not because he is good with speed, not because of his material wealth, but rather, his status as president. Not because he’s better than them at PvP, not because he is good with speed, not because of his material wealth, but rather, his status as president. This power unchecked, which does not need to be gained through hard work since Tubbo was just appointed president without needing to do any work, is terrifying. Presidents are basically immune to any crimes they commit in power e.g. Tubbo stealing from L’Manburg’s residences and other members of the Dream SMP. Their power is completely unchecked, as seen by many countless real-life examples, like how China, Russia, and other authoritarian states passed mandates that extended their terms, or how the governments rarely face any consequences for any war crimes they committed, and their biggest punishment is them resigning early. You can see the effects of government in the US capitol right now in fact, if you need any more real-world examples. No man would be able to take down an entire crowd by themselves. And although Technoblade is usually seen as the second most ‘powerful’ person in the Dream SMP even though he joined much later. How did he gain the power that you speak? He grinded for a long time, never stealing items, opposed to taking freebies, and also trades for items he absolutely cannot get. This type of power is deserved. He’s also not bad at 1.16pvp, just because he trains hard, but in 1.16, items are usually worth much more. Everyone had the potential to be as strong as Technoblade, but none of L’Manburg put in the same amount of time to get the gear they would need. The President even showed up to battle in only a set of enchanted diamond armour! Also, despite setting up war chests, Tubbo chose not to do any preparations himself, greedily hoarding his stash of enough diamonds to equip everyone and eight netherite ingots to himself. In fact, JackManifoldTV gave Tubbo five netherite scraps, which Tubbo immediately stuffed into his ender chest for his own personal gain. (-Dream SMP Wiki) However, if you watched Technoblade’s VOD, you’d realise that the sheer numbers of the people had gotten Technoblade to weak points, like 1.5 hearts and 3 hearts, which Sapnap, a non-L’Manburgians that Tommy through the power of words convinced to join their cause, could have ended him then, but Sapnap missed his axe crit, which left Technoblade time to finish eating his notch apple. It’s almost like he doesn’t realise the idea of “power corrupts” can be applied to him. The problem with this statement is that Technoblade has jokingly referred to his own hubris many times, stating that he was aware. Actually, once November 16th’s battle was over, he left in self-exile, not using the power he had to forcibly watch over L’Manberg in order to ensure that the government could never rebuild the place. Unlike Dream, he did not build walls around L’Manburg. It was truly L’Manburg’s fault when they went and poke the bear on a stick instead of dealing with their actual current problems. As far as I know, Technoblade never actively used that power he has, only as a retaliation. Install a government in front of the anarchist who worked months to eradicate the government? Wither time. Threaten Philza, who was innocent, and put him under house arrest to only come and threaten Carl and take him to an execution without trial? Wither time. Let this be said that government officials that have committed wrongdoing have always escaped to another nation to escape being caught, meaning that L’Manburg actually had no power to arrest Technoblade. The government is run more like a mafia than a for-people-government. “The essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must be in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse.” James Madison, 4th U.S. President. He used his superior strength (with both PvP skills and resources) to destroy L’Manburg and force them essentially back under the rule of Dream. Why did he destroy L’Manburg? Because he just ‘wanted’ to? His actions had motivations. And he did not ‘force’ them essentially back under the rule of Dream. It wasn’t his intention, you cannot blame him for that. If L’Manburg’s going to constantly threaten his state of existence, as well as Phil’s, Carl’s, and more, he would have to retaliate, especially after Tommy changed sides the day before. Dream did invite him to help him destroy L’Manburg, thus causing most of the damage via TNT and not having Technoblade use more than 20% of his withers. Technoblade tried limiting the grudge to himself, trying to dissuade Phil from joining him, whereas L’Manburg tried to draft up all the people they could, like Sapnap and other Greater Dream SMP members. I also wouldn’t say that his strength is superior, because numbers do matter in PvP, and having about 16 people attacking him at all times did get him close to death and breaking his helmet and chest plate. This was due to his preparation. Techno’s ideals are flawed, whether he wants to admit it or not. Techno enjoys anarchism because he benefits from it. Anarchism doesn’t mean that everyones suddenly equal, and it would be stupid to think that. If suddenly all goverment ceased to exist, then it would essentially be survival of the fittest. Aren't all ideals flawed? The thing is that anarchism actually helped the people who believed in it, unlike the people who believed in the government, who was only taxed, conscripted, and stolen from, as well as exiled twice in Tommy’s case. By the way, Anarchism’s definition is actually a belief in the abolition of all government and the organization of society on a voluntary, cooperative basis without recourse to force or compulsion. (-google) That’s why it’s called an anarchist commune. And would you not prefer a system of survival of the fittest, when compared to a system of privilege depending on your genes and parents? If someone actually works for their wealth and position in society, do they not deserve it? If you believe that this problem does not exist, here are some good songs you should listen to. These are just about the American government and the system by the way. Fortunate Son (protest of drafting inequality for the Vietnam War): https://youtu.be/ec0XKhAHR5I Chocolate Rain (commentary of racism and the effects still experienced today): https://youtu.be/EwTZ2xpQwpA These songs are talking about the unfairness of being born not a ‘Senator’s son’ and being born of a different race. Wasn’t L’Manburg built on the xenophobic idea that only British people could join? By the way, L’Manburg’s government is communist, so they believe that everyone is equal. Yet we have countless cases in history where communism fails, and it usually fails hard. Of course, Technoblade wants to promote anarchy if it’s prosperity because then it could be the betterment of society, where every human works for their share of the world. Unfortunately, L’Manburg cannot say that the government did make their life better. It only caused more problems and conflicts for them. This line of words can easily be argued for the government's case, and it’s also filled with pointless rhetoric without saying exactly why anarchism is bad. There’s been nothing but benefits for the ones who claim this ideology whilst the government has only seen lost wars after lost wars. Let me ask you something: Has L’Manburg made any contribution to the future of Dream SMP? Any discovery of technologies, any buildings, any laws, any- anything? Because I cannot think right off my brain. When Tubbo wasn’t president, he made the first mob grinder. But every useful invention, every non-ugly and useful build has come from everywhere but L’Manburg. Awesamdude built the better mob grinders and also helped Tubbo drain the ocean (which original purpose was to just imitate Phil’s farm), tridents were popularised by Technoblade, and Fundy’s rocket launcher was inspired by his design. L’Manburg only took and took, and never truly worked for their power. Remember how Tubbo just took 40 stacks of emeralds from Technoblade? Remember how Tommy kept eating Technoblade’s gapples? These people, with no morality or common sense, should not be the government, yet they are. I’d also argue that real-world American politics is even dumber than what the L’Manburg government does, but at least L’Manburg did face karma for their actions. “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed.” - Gandhi Dream and Technoblade are powerful (and feared) not because a government gives them that power, but simply because they are. By getting rid of governments like L’Manburg, Techno is essentially widening the gap in power between him and Dream, and everyone else. Dream and Techo remain at the top, and people like Tubbo, Quackity, Fundy, etc (who gained a semblance of power being united under L’Manburg) now suddenly are at the bottom. These people also benefited from the government, you are truly forgetting about the actual bottom. Let me talk about Purpled and his ransacked potato farm. Let’s talk about Nihachu, the model L’Manburg citizen, who only ever had taxes raised on her and only wanted peace, just seeing how bad the government was. In the fight, no L’Manburg citizen was fighting. Only the government. Think about that. Governments dictate how people should live their lives, usually without experience. How was their power gained in the first place? By Technoblade toppling Schlatt’s administration. These people piggyback and scam the lower class and you’re defending them? These people, who never worked a day in their life, who’s never ready for any battle, who’s gear are laughable, who’s complaining about Dream and Technoblade being powerful instead of actually working to be powerful themselves. They could just spend a few hours on the server and get actual gear instead of fruitlessly fighting with Dream. These people also benefited from government, you are truly forgetting about the actual bottom. They deserve to drop to the bottom, for how they gained their power. Whereas I can’t say that Dream’s gain of power was lawful, I can say that Technoblade’s grinds are legitimate. (second screenshot) Actually, the piece of information that you referenced is outdated. After being the VP of L’Manburg and subsequently the president of Mexican L’Manburg, which still stands, Quackity is now no longer afraid of Technoblade, seeing as he rushes into battle with limited gear on Jan 6th. This entire screenshot is proven to be false and incorrect. Let me repeat this: QUACKITY IS STILL THE PRESIDENT OF MEXICAN L’MANBURG. Isn’t it more powerful than the Vice President? He now gets to make his own decisions that the cabinet still cannot overrule. I could have gone more in-depth, but unfortunately, all you need is a simple clip of Quackity and Tommy cheering after Technoblade falls down in the battle of Jan 6th. I also still need to write newspapers for the SMP. (third screenshot) Techno didn’t need push his ideas and beliefs onto other people. Did he ever push his ideas and beliefs onto other people? Remember, the only reason he joined the Dream SMP was to overthrow the government. That is it, that’s his only purpose, his only condition, he’s only payment. He does not want discs, emeralds, ores, power; he just wants there to be no government. So Pogtopia forming a government right in front of him is basically them just using him for their own gains. That’s like agreeing to cookies on a website. You have to agree to them if you wish to continue, sometimes. And you shouldn’t complain about being tracked since you did agree to them. This is basically Technoblade’s only wish, only want, and he offered his services for it. But he was never repaid. if anarchy is about doing what you want, then forming a government, because you want to shouldn’t be frowned upon. Anarchy is the state of a society being freely constituted without authorities or a governing body. It may also refer to a society or group of people that entirely reject a set hierarchy. Anarchy was first used in 1539, meaning "an absence of government. -Wikipedia Definition by Merriam Webster:
Governments are a hierarchy. Do you have a basic understanding of anarchy now? Of course, Technoblade’s anarchy isn’t that generic/broad, but you have a severe misunderstanding of what anarchy means. in the end techno brutally destroyed the nation because of a grudge, more so then any ideologies he had. Man, you just threw out the few arguments you had for the cons of anarchy. I’ll like to add that it wasn’t Technoblade who did the most damage to the infrastructure, rather, it was Dream. You keep blaming one part for the extensive damage, when it was a team of Dream, Techno, Philza, Nihachu based on the order of descending property damage. Technoblade was just the distraction, remember? Besides, it’s actually more justifiable and understandable than an ideology. America didn’t do Hiroshima and Nagasaki because of their government and war crimes, rather, they joined because Japan bombed Pearl Harbour. Of course, a war crime for a war crime and the world dies, but it’s not tyranny: it’s retaliation. And in this case, Technoblade is more right than L’Manburg. i think his anger was justified, but as a powerful person who gains power from people being unable to work together to take him down That’s a lot to unpack, but let me just quickly put your argument in semi improper standard form. P1: Technoblade is justifiably angry P2: Technoblade is a powerful person P3: Technoblade can only be taken down by people working together P4: The same group of people caused him injustices P5: Technoblade disbands the group of people, who were under oppression under a god-like figure C: Technoblade seems like a tyrant. I would not be answering in standard form, as the complex argument would be very long P1: You’re aware that Technoblade had the incentive to go after the group of people. Mind you, he did not make the first shot, he did not attack first. This has always been retaliation. A tyrant is someone who acts first, without much prompting, and actually makes the formation of such groups illegal. I will explain more when I get to that premise. (Fallacy: overgeneralization) P2: It depends on what you think is ‘power’. Technoblade is powerful in his PvP, in his resources that he gained himself. But he isn’t powerful in terms of relationships, he only has one person he absolutely trusts. He is absolutely inept socially. However, yes, he is powerful. (Fallacy: overgeneralization) P3: That’s actually untrue, due to his favour with Dream. But only some people have to band together to take him down. (misinformation) P4: Well, he actually has reasons why he goes after the group rather than they threaten his existence by just forming a group. P3: That’s actually untrue, due to his favor with Dream. But only some people have to band together to take him down. (misinformation)ent could have continued, building their new nation somewhere far away, or they could have disbanded the government but still kept together. He did not end any of them canonically or place the members in inescapable jail where they could not plot their next assassination attempt. He only destroyed the place, and also their spirit, but he did not do the manipulation Dream did to get Tubbo to exile Tommy, throwing a wrench into their relationship. Nor did he get Fundy to fall into insanity. Also, you had no reason to bring their suffering up. This is just like Israel trying to defend their mistreatment of Palestine because of the holocaust. And to be clear, I’m also pro-Israel because they helped my nation in defense in the past and present. I wish only the best for them, but I cannot help but sigh at the situation. C: Technoblade seems like a tyrant. Definition of a tyrant by Lexico:
L’manberg is such a tragic story because of its a story of a revolution that lost. it lost. L’Manberg has actually been over the revolution for a month now. Their last actual revolution was November the 16th, and I think that they did win the revolution. They only lost the war with L’Manberg. It’s not America losing the American Revolution, it’s more like the US losing the col war. I think that L’Manberg can be seen as a tragic story not because it lost, but rather, the reasons it lost. And also, not all of us agree. Some of us think of this as a comedy. We aren’t used to that, we aren’t used to watching the underdogs lose. We (overgeneralization) Aren’t used to that (nation losing revolution) - incorrect, do remember Catalonia? Hong Kong? What did BLM achieve in congress? Of course, revolutions that are won are much more well known, because revolutions that are not won are usually kept shut up by the government. In history, there is a bold line that separates revolution vs rebellion. In revolutions, underdogs win, overthrowing the government and instilling their own ideologies and creating a fundamental change in the nation’s political systems. Rebellions are the losing side, where the revolt is brutally crushed under the government. - River, one of the newspaper team members. We (overgeneralization) aren’t used to watching the underdogs lose. To that my friend, I recommend the video Why Tommyinnit Always Loses by Frostbyte Freeman. You’re just unaware that L’Manberg has always been losing, but now, it’s final. Also, remember Infinity War? And like almost all horror movies where they kill off the main character? We’re lucky that Tommy, Tubbo, and everyone that died in-game on Jan 6th did not actually lose a canon life. Do you think that there would be so many movies where the underdog wins with hard work if underdogs who actually worked usually don’t come up in the media? Hey, do you remember Squid Kid, that guy who wanted to be #1 in potatoes? I think that a better tragedy would be Technoblade. A man, who has schizophrenia- who was born violent, yet tried to not kill because he can, but rather, to better himself or the community he’s in. A man, who was betrayed by his own comrades several times over, and only has an old friend he can see eye to eye. A man, whose genes have made him unpopular. A man, who is a child at heart, believing that his idealistic world was still possible. A man, who cares deeply about certain animals. A loyal hardworking man, who has people jealous and terrified of his power. Welcome to the real world txbbo. “When you’re a child, you always support the ‘heroes’. But when you grow up, you’ll understand the well-written' ‘villains’. “ - Many many YouTube comments. For those who have been around since the beginning, its even more tragic, because we remember l’manberg when it was just a small walled off patch of land, formed to revolt. To be fair, L’Manberg’s start is not that glorious. It’s just Breaking Bad x Hamilton. Drugs being outlawed is not an unreasonable thing. But instead of an underground syndicate, L’Manberg chose to become a nation, which is completely unnecessary. But hey, things happen. Thank you for reading. Of course, not everything that I want to say has been typed due to our short human life span of 22 075 000 million seconds. If I had more time, I would be using British and American laws to explain the legality of the issue as well as go much more in-depth, but since this post only took me about 2 hours, I cannot provide you with all the links and proper citations, so I do apologise for the sub-par writing. As always, please understand that this is only a counter-argument to the post, and it only answers directly from the post. This is not meant to invalidate your opinions, rather, to provide another point of view so you will not be trapped in an echo chamber. Also, I cannot believe I wasted time on this. |
"Poison isn’t always something you eat or drink – it can be an emotion. And hate, is one of them, it eats you up inside and causes unimaginable destruction." submitted by Stoic_Ukkasha_021 to librandu [link] [comments] Warsaw, Poland / WWII, 1941. Germans invade Poland, and in less than a week, Germans appoint a Jewish engineer to build a Warsaw Ghetto Jewish council (Judenrat).[1] By November 23, 1939, Warsaw's Jews were asked to be identified by their cloths (wearing white armbands with a blue Star of David.)[2] The German authorities closed Jewish schools, confiscated Jewish-owned property, and conscripted Jewish men into forced labor and dissolved prewar Jewish organizations. More than 400000 people by the end of 1940 were crammed into the 1.3 square-mile ghetto by Nazis in Warsaw.[3] ( I.e. 30% of the population of entire Warsaw at that time.) However, the size of the Ghetto was only about 2.4% of the size of the city. The Germans closed off the Ghetto from the outside world, building a wall around it. There was severe overcrowding, exposure to the elements and starvation. It was the time when typhus had hit the entire Europe badly. Thousands died. Earlier, in Ferdinand and Isabella's army alone, at least 17k people died because of this Epidemic. During such conditions, ghetto in Warsaw became a perfect incubator for epidemics. And when typhus broke out in 1941, it must have left a devastating effect on the ghetto's vulnerable population.[4] Typhus is caused by the bacteria Rickettsia prowazekii, and is transmitted rapidly by infected fleas or body lice that travel from person to person, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The disease causes high fever, chills, coughing and severe muscle pain, and it is fatal in about 40% of cases if untreated, the World Health Organization (WHO) says. "Explosive epidemics of typhus are especially likely to surface when people live in overcrowded conditions with poor hygiene, according to WHO. But what happened completely shook the scientific community Strangely, the epidemic was curtailed and was brought to a sudden halt before winter, when typhus normally accelerates. A far more massive epidemic outbreak was prevented through the anti-epidemic efforts.

By November, the appearance of new cases had dropped by about 40%, and the typhus outbreak subsided with only about 10% of the population affected, despite winter usually being prime season for typhus, researchers reported today (July 24) in the journal Science Advances.. But, what happened to these Jews? Ah well, what a deadly pandemic that killed 3 million, couldn't do, hate did. By October 1941, when an epidemic was raging in the Warsaw Ghetto, Jost Walbaum, the Chief Health Officer of the General Government (Occupied Poland) infamously made the statement: “The Jews are overwhelmingly the carriers and disseminators of typhus infection. … There are only two ways [to solve this]. We sentence the Jews in the ghetto to death by hunger or we shoot them…. We have one and only one responsibility, that the German people are not infected and endangered by these parasites. For that, any means must be right”.These words were followed by applause and clapping from 100s of attendees, mostly medical doctors. In addition to this, the highest German administrative authority in the General Government, Governor General Hans Frank, alleged in 1943 that the genocidal murder of 3 million Jews in Poland “was unavoidable for reasons of public health”. Following this. From July 22 until September 12, 1942, the Germans deported about 265,000 Jews from Warsaw to Treblinka; they killed approximately 35,000 Jews inside the ghetto during the operation.[5] On April 19, 1943, a new SS and police force appeared outside the ghetto walls, and this time, a resistance started to begin. At least 7,000 Jews died fighting or in hiding in the ghetto, while the SS and police sent another 7,000 to the Treblinka killing center. https://preview.redd.it/6bubx55vn0h61.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=45eb5be2cf78681788c45df56a2aa0103834f9a6 Dear Readers. We have seen a lot, though in less intensity, but we have. Libs are very picky when it comes to the distinction between Peaceful Protests (the good ones) and Rioting (the bad ones) — it has been same since the ages, it’s nothing new. It has happened during The United States civil rights movement era and the Quit India Movement. submitted by -PizzaSlayer- to librandu [link] [comments] The privileged majority, which does not give two hoots about the grievances of the underprivileged class, suffers because of destruction of public property. This makes the common man withdraw his/her support from the protestors, because such is the case of privilege, s/he does not care about the hardships of the underprivileged. The era of 1960s in the US history had two waves of protests in the same time — one, nonviolent civil rights demonstrations, and two, the urban rioting. In 1964, Democratic Lyndon B Johnson swept every region of the country except the South running a liberal, pro-civil-rights campaign; https://preview.redd.it/fdd3tscqxhf61.png?width=522&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d6f97ef468fec1897bcbe2bcec89da9f824ebeb And in just a matter of 4 years, in 1968, Richard Nixon won a narrower victory on the basis of social backlash. https://preview.redd.it/hsl75mesxhf61.png?width=522&format=png&auto=webp&s=db9c017b521e6a65a39d4218dd8b7e48e2f906d9 Omar Wasow, an assistant professor at the department of politics at Princeton, published a paper on the nature of public opinion at violent vs non-violent protests. Wasow approaches the problem in different ways. In one of the methods, he compared the public’s concern for civil rights and its concern for “social control,” with violent and nonviolent protests:
