MCC (Método del Cuadro) method for dancing Casino?
Has anyone ever studied the MCC method for dancing Casino? All the Cuban Salsa classes I have taken only teach patterns and not technique. When I researched technique on my own, MCC is the only system that pops up. The Youtube videos are not really all that detailed. They are mainly demonstrations. Plus, my Spanish is too rusty and I have to constantly rewind them to translate. My main confusion is the admonishment of doing a back step. I don't really understand how to do even basic patterns (guapea, dile que no) without a back step. I have been substituting a step in place or a side step for the back step but not sure if that's what they mean.

Hey y'all, This might be a weird request, but I'm looking for RPGs that aren't so dependent on luck. While yes, any game that involves dice is going to include a fair amount of luck, I would like to explain what type of luck games I like and which ones I don't. When it comes to luck based games, I believe that are two main types. Roulette type games, and Poker type games. Both found in a casino, both are highly affected by luck, but I think one takes skill and good decision making on the part of the player, and the other is purely luck. This has to do with the order in which the player makes a move, and the RNG rolls. In roulette, the player makes a decision first (what to bet on) and then the RNG rolls, to see if the player "succeeded" or not. Whether the player chooses red or black, or odd and evens, does not matter in the slightest, because the two events are independent. The outcome of the first event (player decision), in no way affects the outcome of the second event (where the ball lands). Therefore, the decision the player made first has absolutely no affect on whether you succeed or not, because even if a player bets on red, it's not going to become more or less likely to land on red. The ball has the same chance of landing on red whether you bet on it or not. There is no strategizing, there is no technique or skill: whether you win or not is purely decided by luck. I get that some people like these type of games, but I don't. In poker, it's the opposite. The RNG rolls first (cards are dealt) and then the player makes a decision. This change in order makes all the difference. Even if you were dealt a shitty hand, if you're a good player, you can still win using bluffing. Conversely, even if you have a good hand, if you have a shitty poker face, you can still lose. In this way, the outcome of the game is much more influenced by player skill and decision making, than it is on RNG. These two events are dependent - the outcome of the first event (cards dealt) will affect the outcome of the second event (what the player decides to do). However, the first event doesn't dictate the outcome of the second event, because again, with player skill you can turn a shitty RNG into a success, or a good RNG into a failure. There are such things as good and bad poker players, but you've never heard anyone be described as a "good roulette player" because again, it takes 0 skill to win at roulette. If you're lucky you win, if you're not you lose. Most of the tabletop RPGs I've played (DCC/MCC/DnD5e/Savage Worlds, etc) fall into the roulette category. The player makes a decision first (fight or flee) and then you roll the RNG to see if you succeed or not. For me personally, this does not make for compelling game play, as your success is more affected by luck, than by player skill or decision making. My GM tried to tell me that the decision you make before rolling (fight or flee) are what is important, but I do not see if that way. Because whether you choose to fight or flee makes no goddamn bit of difference, if the odds aren't in your favor. Like I said earlier, the outcome of roulette games are determined by independent events - whether you choose to fight or flee, will not affect what comes up on your dice. You can be the biggest, baddest fighter in the world who has went on countless quests and defeated countless monsters, but if during one session/fight you have terrible luck, you may end of contributing less to the fight/story than a level 1 nobody. So if the levels or skill or the decision the player makes don't matter nearly as much as luck does.. why even bother? So far I've only played one tabletop RPG that falls into the poker category. Blades in the Dark. In that game, there is a mechanic called "stress". If you get a bad roll during gameplay, you can choose to "take a stress" to turn it from a failure to a success. However, if you accumulate too much stress, your character starts getting some pretty bad modifiers. However, during "downtime" you can engage in different activities to "relieve stress", although it comes with an opportunity cost as you can only do so many activities during downtime (2 I think?) so if you relieve stress, you may not be able to resupply, or regain health points, or whatever. So it becomes a resource you have you carefully manage, and instead of praying to RNGesus for every roll, you can actually make meaningful decisions during combat, about whether you want to push your luck now, or if you want to save it in case you need it later. To me, this type of game play is much more compelling, because the player can actually affect the outcome. So if you've read this far: first of all, thank you. And second, for my request - are there other games similar to Blades in the Dark, where players get to make decision after they roll their dice, instead of being at the mercy of RNGesus? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Hi, on new year's eve i was chilling in one of European casinos. Because revolut withdrawal limits are not too big I decided to withdraw money from terminal by card. Next day I saw that I received a cashback from that transaction (0.1%). Everything there is right with rules ? Today I was texting with support and they said that this transaction MCC number is 7995. It belongs to Lottery Tickets, Casino Gaming Chips, Off - track Betting and Wagers. It's actually a bug? What if I could go to USA, Las Vegas where I could earn 1% cashback on every transaction ? Deposit $ to atm and then to revolut. Repeat, repeat, repeat... Lambo ?
So I'm coming back to GTA:O this weekend after a year away from it due to life and all the accoutrements that go with it (and when it has finally finished installing!). I left after Doomsday was in full swing and then completely missed After Hours, and from a cursory search, it doesn't sound like I've missed much. Is there anything which is compulsory / mandatory for money making, or is the usual rotation of crates / IE and MC / Bunker with VIP jobs in between still the go to? I'm interested in splashing out on a few of the vehicles to keep my garage themes going and I think I'll be getting rid of a few of my old vehicles which have just sat there not being used ever since I bought them. I'm still reading up on how exactly I can set myself up in the cheapest way to start on the new heists. I have:
Just North of $16 million cash ($16.6million from Social Club) and what's left of the stock of Elegy Retro Customs that I made before I went offline ;) (which will probably result in about $18million after getting rid of them)
An office, 2 Large Warehouses and a Small (for special cargo)
I/E Warehouse (as far as I can remember, I spent ages setting it up for repeat high end cars and was doing this for a bit and it's a fairly chilled $240k an hour)
Fully upgraded Coke Business (Downtown LS one)
Fully upgraded Bunker (Farmhouse I think)
The usual essentials like Hydra, Oppressor, Buzzard (and a random Valkyrie which I bought when I was drunk or something). I also have essentials from Smuggler's Run / Gunrunning / Doomsday such as the Akula, Hunter, Deluxo, Avenger, MCC, APC etc which are all fully upgraded to my knowledge.
A full CEO Garage full of cars modded to my liking which I don't really want to get rid of (except maybe a few when I finally get online this weekend, but I do have a floor full of race cars which were the best at the time of Gunrunning / Doomsday / Smuggler's Run (X80, T20, Vagner, Nero Custom etc. - is there a new fastest super or can I safely get by with what I have? - Nero Custom tank for demolition derby type races and Vagner for actually winning stuff.)
A maxed out yacht (the one with the canopy over the top deck for doing that VIP mission without getting fisted from above)
I don't have:
Anything from AH / Casino.
I'm not fully up to speed on the new Heists yet and most of my mates that I used to play with have stopped playing ages ago leaving me alone. I'm used to grinding CEO stuff on my own in crew / solo sessions and do everything like MC sales and bunker sales with one vehicle, or two if I'm feeling ballsy in a public lobby. I'm still in my crew so I can safely get into friendly lobbies. How much would you reckon I'd have to fork out to get set up comfortably with a penthouse / get set up for the new heists and content? Is there anything new which I can drop into my money-making rotation?
I parked at Hard Rock whenever I went to the Joe because it was cheap and close but I don't know the best spot now for the LCA. It's only a mile from Hard Rock so I could park there again. Any suggestions?
We Need to be Prepared to Boycott Halo 6 - RE to Frank O'Connor's statements regarding REQs and Loot Boxes
I guess I'm going to start this off by saying that I, like all of you, am a Halo fan. I fell in love the day I stepped out of that cryo-chamber onto the cold, hard titanium-A plating of the Autumn's deck - Some time in 2005, actually, well after the release of Halo 2, when I was 6 years old. I was playing splitscreen with my father. It was the happiest day of my life when I ran into an EB Games store a year later only to discover that Combat Evolved had a sequel. Since then, I've read every book and comic, nagged my parents to pre-order every game (which they were happy to do), and enjoyed every moment of it. To me, Halo was an example of everything good about games - it was the benchmark by which I measured the quality of the way other every other game told its story, immersed me in its universe and generally gave me a good time shooting or stabbing or, God forbid, doing something non-violent. I was that tryhard, whiny little kid on Halo 3's multiplayer - I hope you older fellas have forgiven me for those annoying shenanigans, because now I need to ask you a favour. I was beyond excited for the release of Halo 5 - to me, it would be the game that cemented 343's status as the custodians of the franchise and made all those Halo 4 "haters" look silly. And for a time, it was. I forced myself to enjoy it. Lied to myself. A year ago, I stopped - and I started fighting. Now, the problems with the story and basic gameplay are discussions for another time. My biggest gripe with Halo 5 is simple - 343 traded in the dignity of the franchise they were supposed to elevate to new heights and began the inevitable process of turning the game into a casino. Then, to justify it, they began to add in missing content that Halo games have been launching with for over 10 years. I find it funny how 343's rationale for the REQ system was that it would allow them to add in new content and maps, yet the game launched with a tiny selection of maps that would have caused most of the community to immediately grow bored if 343 hadn't added to them anyway, REQ packs or not. I also find it funny how Halo 5 received game- modes like infection and assault months after release which a game from 2004 launched with, and how Warzone Firefight launched utterly broken and remains unsatisfying. I find it particularly funny how half of the "Free-L-C" content we've gotten has been to expand the REQ system and its associated pay-to-win game mode, even though its very existence was meant to pay for content to expand the rest of the game. Except I don't find any of that funny - I find it sad, because it just proves how dishonest and lazy 343 have been on the matter. And I shouldn't even have to say why it's such a massive, crying pity that the REQ system sent armour customisation back to the stone age, destroying any real sense of progression and replacing it with the sick, predatory attraction of in-game gambling, designed specifically to sucker in vulnerable people who need to be protected, and impressionable children unable to think critically about how they should be spending their parent's money. I don't buy the sham excuses the defenders of the REQ system regurgitate into debates - that the alternative, conventional DLC expansions, split the community. Do they even stop to question why it would be such a tremendous problem for a game as massive as Halo to have a split community when you're only searching for lobbies of 8-24? Do they recall the days of Reach and 3, when a new map-pack would boost the community, bringing folks back online to try out the new maps? I'm not angry at them - they used to be me. They simply need to realise that they're not helping Halo, but defending those harming it. So that brings me to the question; why now? Why say all this now? Surely there could've been other times to get this rant out of your system than some arbitrary date in late Janurary of 2018. Well, as I'm sure you read from the title, Frank O'Connor recently made a statement distancing Halo's REQ system from Battlefront 2's star card system. He called the REQ system "unintrusive", and "well liked as far as these things go", reassuring us that 343 would never descend to those depths. His attempts to reassure me failed - I'm more scared than ever. The only thing that separates Halo 5's system from Battlefront 2's is the straw that broke the camel's back. Extend the REQ system's gameplay effects across all game modes and you practically have star cards. REQ packs are loot boxes - you pay for them, you roll the slot machine, you get a random return. This is gambling, this is predatory, and this is not in the spirit of Halo. Now is our chance as a community to tell that poorly informed fellow how we really feel about the REQ system. Perhaps it is true that so far we've tolerated its influence - to an extent - but we never, ever said we LIKED it! The Battlefront 2 controversy has started a wave of resistance, begun to re-affirm that there are games which should never have loot boxes, people who would never play these sick casino-aberrations AAA devs are passing off as games 343 has made it abundantly clear to us that, contrary to their rhetoric, they DO NOT listen. If we as a community try and sit down with them and have a polite conversation, they will simply ignore our voice and run circles around us until Halo is un-recognisably mutilated - the proof of this lies in the requests of some to have MCC ported to PC, or the fiasco with the competitive multiplayer folks a while back. We need to be uncompromising, clear in what we want and maybe even just a little bit rude before we can even beat them down to meet us half way. Thankfully, there is a glimmer of hope - there are some truly magnificent people at 343, people whose souls are undoubtedly weighed down every day by the knowledge of what is happening to Halo, a franchise they adore every bit as much as we do. Every so often, if we shout loud enough, something makes it through the cracks, and that's when good things happen, like Halo Wars 2 - a great game, still weighed down by its own version of the REQ system; the infernal Blitz packs, and its insultingly dumb associated game mode. We need to be vocal enough to tear these gaps wide open and expose 343 to the wrath of the people they've insulted, demeaned and frustrated with their money-grabbing schemes. We need to set those poor souls free, we need to throw any inkling of microtransactions out of Halo's legacy, and contribute to the revolution which will overturn the game industry and set things back the way they were. And to do this, I hate to say it, we need to be willing to look at Halo 6 and, no matter how promising it looks, turn our heads and say NO as long as it has any kind of micro-transactional gambling. We need to remember that the customer is always right, that we, if we band together and prove willing to sacrifice what we love, if only for a year or a few months or even a few, critical weeks, can punish 343 enough to make them realise what they should be, and what they should be doing with Halo. I'm truly sorry for the length of this rant - but I truly hope you listen, and have faith that we can bring about change as a community - as a brotherhood of devoted fans that know what they want. I know what I want - I want Halo's dignity back. Edits for grammar, and to fix an inaccurate statement regarding maps.
